You will be writing a children's story in book formation.  This will incorporate everything we have worked on in units 1-3.  The story will be myth or legend based, include an illustrated cover and must revolve around 2 people from different parts of the world, universe or mythical locations who meet for the first time and what ensues from there in order to develop a cautionary tale.
Your story must include the following elements:
  • 15 written pages 2-3 sentences each plus the front and back cover illustrations and dedication page. (See outline and template)
  • It must include elements from all 3 units statements of inquiry:
  • Unit 1 SOI - In certain contexts, a person's status can be inferred through various forms of communication.
  • Unit 2 SOI - Using moral reasoning and ethical judgement to connect with other people's point of view gives way to developing a sense of empathy and understanding.
  • Unit 3 SOI - Creative and stylistic choices of idiom can more successfully communicate philosophies and ways of life to a variety of audiences.
  • You must identify your story as a myth or a legend to show you understand the difference between them.
  • You must associate your 2 main characters with indigenous groups that you have learned about in Bolivia, Paraguay, and/or Uruguay.
  • The character names must be hispanic or derived from the indigenous groups represented.
